The Brief

This is a state of art Academy for teaching new students mechanics.
This was a brand-new portal frame building in an industrial park.
We were asked to install a mezzanine to take classroom above and below.
Install new kitchen along with a refectory. Locker room and parts store along with offices. All electrics and mechanical.

REFURBISHMENT OF PARK

The unit was an empty shell with an existing office and staircase.

A mezzanine was constructed out of steel and chipboard decking, fire rated underneath. There was a new wall of 12 meters high to construct which had to be fire rated, this was a difficult job due to the height of the wall, 1 hour fire rating and the deflection of the roof at the top. All new electrics, fire alarm, comms and mechanical to include hot & cold-water air cone to the rooms. The main works shop has radiant gas heaters along with a specialized extraction for the exhaust from the lorries.

Decoration signage and flooring were undertaken along with specialized fire stopping and smoke fire extraction from the kitchen.
The project was 16weeks install and completed on budget for the client.
